The magic of the holiday season returns as Ventura County Ballet proudly presents the 28th Annual production of The Nutcracker, a beloved holiday tradition that has captivated audiences across Ventura County for nearly three decades.
Experience the wonder of Clara's unforgettable journey brought to life through breathtaking classical ballet, exquisite costumes, hand-painted sets, and Tchaikovsky's timeless score performed live by Opera San Luis Obispo Grand Orchestra. As Ventura County's only Nutcracker presented with a live professional orchestra, this spectacular production offers an unforgettable theatrical experience for audiences of all ages. From the festive party scene to the thrilling battle with the Rat Queen and the dazzling Land of Sweets, every moment is filled with holiday magic, stunning artistry, and cherished memories that families return to year after year. Featuring talented local dancers alongside dazzling professional ballet stars, Ventura County Ballet's The Nutcracker celebrates the joy, beauty, and wonder of the season while inspiring audiences of every generation.
Community Outreach Events
A key part of Ventura County Ballet’s mission is to bring ballet to audiences that might not otherwise get the opportunity to experience it. Throughout our Nutcracker season Ventura County Ballet performs excerpts from The Nutcracker and makes costumed appearances at various locations leading up to performances. A few examples of past outreach events have been elementary schools, libraries, holiday tree-lighting events, hospitals and youth community centers. We vary the locations and events season-to-season to broaden our reach.
